I, Kayla, and two of my girlfriends just returned from a trip to Mexico. We stayed at El Dorado Seaside Suites, an adults-only Karisma resort. The resort is a little over an hour from the Cancun airport. We had our transfers booked through Amstar. They provided great and quick service and got us to the resort safely. When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted with a drink and cold towel. Perla at the front desk helped us with check in and all went smoothly. Check in is at 3pm so we had some time before our room was ready so we grabbed lunch at Beach Barbeque. They had so many different options to choose from in a buffet style setting out under the palm trees and tables in the sand. We ate hamburgers, chicken, grilled steak and vegetables, pasta, and potato salad. All the food was very tasty, as part of their Gourmet Inclusive philosophy.

We were then shown to our room, which was an Oceanfront Infinity Pool Jacuzzi Suite. The room was very clean and spacious and had two double beds along with a round couch that could swivel. The view from the balcony was amazing and each room had an entrance to an infinity pool that connected. It was really cool to stand in your infinity pool outside the room and look down to the large pool below and out onto the ocean. Watching the sunrises in the morning from the spacious balcony was also a huge plus. El Dorado Seaside Suites is also connected to El Dorado Sensimar. The two resorts offer 192 beachfront suites, 10 specialty restaurants, nine bars, and one of the best spas in Riviera Maya. The Sensimar section is more European but guests at either section can go to the restaurants, pools, and bars at both. This was nice because it gave you more options for food and hang out spots. The beach on the Seaside Suites side was rocky and it was recommended that you wear waters shoes. The beach on Sensimar side was nicer but wasn't very large. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas and it didn't feel overly crowded on property. We spent most of our time at the pool and pool bar at the Seaside section. The service by Orlando and Alejandro was excellent at the pool bar and they never kept you waiting long for a refill on your drink. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The food was also very good on property. We went to the Seaside Market, a buffet, for breakfast every morning. The food was good and they always had a nice selection of breakfast foods to pick from. This is good for all the picky eaters, they can choose what they want. We also ate dinner at the Italian restaurant, Mia Casa and the Japanese restaurant, Klay Talay. We really enjoyed both because they had authentic food and it was all served quickly and efficiently. We also grabbed lunch one day at Driftwood, the Caribbean restaurant. It is located right under the pool on Seaside section, which is convenient for anyone laying at the pool who gets hungry. This is also a buffet style restaurant with different Caribbean options.

The one complaint we did have about the resort was how spread out it was and the lack of golf cart shuttles running. You could walk back and forth from the rooms, restaurants at Seaside, and restaurants at Sensimar but it wasn't good if you have mobility issues or didn't feel like walking. We waited a few times for the shuttle to come for 15 minutes, just to have people that had just arrived, jump on in front of us. If they had more shuttles, this probably could've fixed the wait time problem.

We really enjoyed our stay at El Dorado Seaside Suites. The people were great, the food was good, and the atmosphere of both properties was fun and entertaining. We really loved spending our days in the pool and our nights eating at the restaurants and getting an after dinner drink at a bar. My favorite was the one with the swings! I would recommend this resort for couples, as well as friends looking for a fun getaway.
