CHIC Punta Cana -Day 3

Today is our last day at CHIC so our day will be filled with time on the beach and of course a visit to the spa. We started the day with breakfast at the buffet, Elements. We have eaten here most mornings and have found that the food is very good and the selection varies daily. Since we are staying in a Diamond Club room we have access to the hydrotherapy and sauna at the spa which we took advantage of today. The spa is beautiful and the hydrotherapy area is very relaxing and serene. The spa also includes a beautiful bridal suite, 15 treatment rooms including a couples option complete with a jacuzzi and shower. After our hydrotherapy it was off to the beach.

The beach at CHIC is very wide and has beautiful golden sand. The water was a bit on the rough side during our stay but I was told that this is not always the case. It did seem to calm down in the afternoon. There was seaweed on the beach but they cleaned it up daily as best as they could. There was some in the water as well but this has been the case this summer at many resorts. This was not an issue for me but I feel it is worth mentioning. There are many cabanas and chairs on the beach and it doesn't feel overcrowded. We had a cabana and chairs reserved daily by our butler which is a great perk of Diamond Club.

For me the biggest advantage of the Diamond Club is the location of the buildings. The only rooms on property with an oceanview are located in the Diamond Club buildings. The remainder of the buildings are located at the back of the property and all have garden views. The property is laid out very well so no matter which room you choose everything is just a short walk away.

There is a great pool area which has loungers in the pool along the sides as well as on the deck. There are two pool sections and one has a swim up bar. The second pool has private cabanas with your own small plunge pools which are available to rent daily at an extra charge. The is a separate pool set up just for pool volleyball and a huge jacuzzi. In the morning the pool is very quiet but as the day goes on the activity and music levels increase. Daily at 3PM they have a party with different activities which is very entertaining to watch or even join in if you dare. In the evening the lobby bar has plenty of activity and there is also a small casino located in the same area. It is open daily with the slots beginning at 2PM and the gaming tables at 7PM.

During our stay we have dined at all of the restaurants with the exception of Tangine which features Mediterranean dishes. Hunter was my personal favorite featuring multiple cuts of steak as well as a fish option. I had the petite fillet which was cooked perfectly and delicious. My husband had the NY strip which was wonderful as well. My husband's favorite is Pescari which features sushi and ceviche. I don't eat sushi but I enjoyed the Pescari wok which was stir fried with veggies, noodles, steak and chicken. My husband had too many types of sushi to name but he raved about the ceviche roll and camerones which featured tuna accented with lime sauce and spices. The food here has been wonderful and we have not had a bad meal. We did not try room service but it is offered 24/7 with a limited menu.

The staff here at CHIC has been fantastic. They could not do enough for us and they were all extremely friendly and most spoke very good English. We did not feel there was a language barrier at the resort. I would absolutely return and if you are looking for an upbeat, lively resort with great food and an excellent staff CHIC may just be for you.

This has been a fantastic workation at a beautiful resort filled with great people.  Thanks for reading and as always contact your favorite dream agent to book your dream vacation today!
