"Amy's flawless and extremely pleasant service has been amazing to deal with A perfect example is when I saw the infamous 50% price drop. By the time I realized what had happened and emailed Amy about it, she just replied "No worries, I've already taken care of it for you! Watch your email for an updated invoice." Now THAT, my friends, is SERVICE. Many other TA's would have just left it alone, keeping the commission on the extra $800+. Not Amy."

Haytt Ziva Cancun Grand Opening Gala - Day 1 Arrival

I traveled Southwest direct from BWI to Cancun.  The flight was smooth and we arrived on time.  Once I got through Customs and Immigration, I headed outside (by passing all the timeshare people who pretend they are trying to help you find your transfers) to get on my transfers.  I used Tropical Incentives.  The van was clean and comfortable.  We got moving right away.  It was a ½ hour drive to Haytt Ziva Cancun.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is in downtown Cancun.  It used to be the Dreams Cancun resort.  When it was Dreams, it was a nice resort in a great location, but the resort was tired.   Hyatt refurbished it and the resort is NOT tired at all.  It is very nice.

I arrived around 2:30 and by 3pm I was in my room, the Ziva Dolphin View Master King Room.  The room is very nice.  Mine has a king bed with a very nice bathroom.  It has a double vanity and a very nice rainfall shower.  I have a great Oceanview overlooking the dolphin pool.  The room has an iron, ironing board, safe and refrigerator with beer, water, and soda.  They also include snacks - chips, candy, and granola bars.  The balcony has a table and two chairs.

The nice thing about this resort is that they have several options for lunch in the afternoon.  Most resorts have only one restaurant open after 2:30.  We ate at Lorenzo’s, the  Italian restaurant.  I had a beef crustini and wood fired meat lasagna.  Both were very good.

Before dinner we had a drink in the microbrewery.  They have their own microbrewery,  Tres CerveZa's.  Today they were serving a hefeweizen, amber, and a porter.  I liked the porter the best.

We ate dinner at the steak restaurant.  Tradewinds is a buffet restuarant for breakfast and lunch, but ala carte for dinner.  I started with a mixed greens salad, Mexican chicken corn soup, and a fillet.  The food was good.

It was a travel day, so I went to bed early.  Tomorrow I'm going to Finest to do a resort tour.  Stay tuned for more tomorrow and as always please reach out to your dream agent to reserve your next vacation to paradise.
