Today, I, Amy McHugh, and Kayla went to visit the nearby property of Hyatt Ziva, a beautiful all-inclusive resort. We took a taxi from Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and it took about 10 minutes to arrive at the Hyatt. Hyatt Ziva is approximately 10-15 minutes from the airport. The Hyatt Ziva is a large resort and also has a sister property, Hyatt Zilara (adults only). These resorts opened only a year ago. At this hotel, the service is excellent and their trademark is “service from the heart”. Once we got to the Hyatt, we checked in at the front desk with our day pass and received our room keys. The rooms at the Hyatt have more of a variety of décor than at Iberostar. We were in a standard room with a pool view in the section of the resort that used to be the Ritz Carlton. Along with standard rooms, Hyatt Ziva also offers Junior Suites, Club Level, and Butler rooms. The wifi at Hyatt is much better than at Iberostar and is available on most of the resort.

After putting our bags in the room, we went down to the beach. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas available on the beach. This section of beach also had a little area of water that was great for swimming and also had a giant trampoline in the ocean to jump on. After spending some time relaxing on the beach, we headed to the pool. At the Hyatt Ziva, there are 2 large pools and one with a swim-up bar. The water is refreshing after sitting in the hot sun and grabbing a drink at the pool bar helps cool you off even more.

We spent a few hours at the pool before going to Barefoot Jerkz for lunch. This is a jerk chicken shack situated right on the sand steps from the ocean and pool. The jerk chicken was very good and they also have jerk pork available along with sides like rice. At lunch, we got to meet Vishal Vaswani, the Director of Rooms at Hyatt Ziva. He was very welcoming and also made sure we were having a good time at the resort. After lunch and meeting with Vishal, we grabbed coffee and hot tea at Grindz, a rustic café right off the lobby. They had fresh ground Jamaican coffee and a small selection of sandwiches and other pastries.

For dinner, we went to Di Roza, the Italian restaurant at Hyatt Ziva. This restaurant has authentic Italian food made by authentic Italian chefs. There was an anti-pasta bar that you could visit to get an appetizer plate. They had many different entrees to choose from like lasagna and pizza fresh out of a brick oven. Pairing any entrée with a wine off of their extensive wine list makes for a great dinner.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending the day at Hyatt Ziva. It was a fantastic resort and provided a great atmosphere for the day. We look forward to sending many more clients to this fabulous resort now and in the future.

We are headed to bed early tonight so we will be fully rested to do more site inspections tomorrow morning.
