Today Amy and I started off the morning with breakfast at the Naos lounge, which is a buffet style restaurant in the Paradisus Resort. We scheduled a meeting with Colette Baruth, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AM Resorts. AM Resorts is the provider of sales for five different exclusive properties in Mexico, Jamaica and Dominican Republic. They are Zoetry Wellness & Spa Resorts, NOW Resorts & Spas, Sunscape Resorts & Spas, Secrets Resorts & Spas and Dreams Resort & Spas. We have a great relationship with all of these resorts and their management and were very excited to meet Colette face to face to discuss what can be expected in the future for these great destinations.

One of the many things that we like about AM Resorts is their Destination Wedding/Honeymoon packages. They offer something for everyone, from spa packages to bachelor and bachelorette parties. Each of these resorts offers an onsite wedding coordinator and complimentary honeymoon and wedding packages. You can even choose to add some extras if you’re looking for something more unique (For example; fireworks or a photo booth for you and your guests to enjoy).

After breakfast, Amy went to enjoy her complimentary massage at the YHI Spa. The spa services are additional. The spa at the Paradisus Resort offers many different services to their clients, such as signature treatments, aromatherapy, radiance scrubs, facials, etc. They also offer personal trainers, group classes and couples training classes for those who are looking to work out while they are vacationing.

While Amy enjoyed her spa treatment, I ate a quick lunch at Naos. It was buffet, so it was good enough for a quick lunch. There are many food options at the buffet restaurants. They typically have a main theme (today was Italian) and other side dishes to choose from. I got a Caesar salad and Hawaiian pizza. The buffet food is OK, but personally I enjoy ala carte menus.

Once I finished lunch, I went to the YHI Spa and scheduled my 50 minute massage. The spa is very clean and has a downstairs locker room where you change into your robe, and an upstairs area where the massage rooms are located. Once you get upstairs, you can relax in a recliner until your masseuse is ready for you. I thought the spa was very impressive, but I did hear some older women complaining about having to walk up a flight of stairs since they had walking issues. This resort would not be a good fit for someone who had problems or issues with walking far distances. Since the resort is very large and composed of an adult only and family section, it is never a quick walk to any of the centrally located restaurants or bars.

Tonight was awards night which means Amy and I were representing Dream Makers Vacation Services at the gala event this evening. Since we are a top Travel Impressions account, Dream Makers Vacation Services will be awarded a Globe, which is given to Travel Impressions top producers and best partners. It is truly an honor to be here accepting this globe and being labeled as the Best of the Best in the travel industry.

Every year, Travel Impressions hosts a surprise guest to perform at their awards ceremony. This year, it was Taylor Dane. She performed a few songs and took picture with the agents. It was fun.

After the awards ceremony, a bunch of suppliers and fellow travel agents decided to experience the Mexican night life at Mandala Night Club. The night club was a "lounge" type of atmosphere with many couches and lounging areas. There were two floors in Mandala. The first floor consisted of a dance floor with a large DJ table. The music was mostly techno music, and the place was packed. Since the club was so crowded, Amy and I did not venture up to the second floor. Amy and I had our own table on the first floor where we joined other suppliers who were attending the Best of the Best Awards trip.

When it was time to leave, we took a taxi back to the resort and went to bed to get ready for our departure tomorrow.

Be sure to continue following along to hear more about our exciting evening. Thank you for reading and of course, for being wonderful Dream Clients.  Be sure to stay tuned for details on our trip to the new, Secrets The Vine.
