This week co-owner Amy and I (Robyn) will be traveling to Mexico to attend the annual 2014 GIVC awards. The awards are held at the wonderful El Dorado Royale in beautiful Riviera Maya, Mexico. After a small flight delay I arrived in Mexico around 3PM. When I arrived I was greeted by Juan from Lomas Travel who showed me to our private transfers to the resort. The airport was very busy today and after a short and smooth 30 minute ride we arrived at the resort just after 5PM.
Upon arrival check in was very smooth and efficient and I was quickly shown to the room. We are staying in a Luxury Jacuzzi Junior Suite. The room is very nice and has a balcony with 2 chairs, a hammock with a view of the gardens. The room is very spacious at 590 sq ft and has a great jacuzzi tub, shower and a small sitting area complete with a sofa and small table for dining. The El Dorado Royale is a gourmet inclusive adults only resort. The property is beautiful and has recently earned the designation of a AAA 4 diamond resort. The resort features 478 luxurious suites with 7 gourmet restaurants, 13 pools, 24 hour room service and of course a wonderful spa.
After a long day of travel I decided on room service for dinner. I ordered the authentic chips with guacamole, shrimp and chicken tacos and passion fruit cheesecake for dessert. They told me when I ordered it we be 35 minutes but it arrived in 15 minutes. The authentic guacamole was wonderful and everything else was excellent as well. El Dorado Royale prides itself on being a gourmet inclusive resort and room service is no exception. Tomorrow is a day full of seminars, networking with our great travel partners and exploring all the resort has to offer.
