Sandals St Vincent Resort Review

Sandals St Vincent is a beautiful resort in St Vincent, an island in the Southern Caribbean between St Lucia & Grenada. It is a beautiful mountainous island that is an up & coming tourist island. While the island is very mountainous, the resort itself is flat. Because it is the Southern Caribbean, the chance of hurricanes is lower than further up North. This was an existing resort that Sandals fully renovated. There are 301 guest rooms, so it is not a huge resort.
The airport is small and currently only few airlines fly to St Vincent and their schedules are limited. Sandals is expected to add airlift. American & Air Canada are the major commercial airlines flying to St Vincent. Caribbean Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and a couple other smaller airlines. JetBlue just added direct flights from JFK.
The transfers from the airport take almost an hour on hilly windy roads. If you are in a butler suite, you can opt for boat transfers which take 35 min and drop you off at the resort’s dock. The boat transfers include local beer, water, and packaged snacks. They must be arranged before travel and are weather dependent.
The resort has a nice beach with soft white sand. The beach is only as wide as the resort. There is also a small beach near the overwater bungalows. The water is beautiful blue and clear.
There are 3 pools. One long one in the middle of the resort and 2 others closer to the beach. One of those is an infinity pool. If you are in a swimout room, you share access to the lagoon with the other swimout rooms in your section. There are a lot of cabanas around the pools. They say they are first come/first service, but I suspect the butler suites will get first choice and possibly charge non-butler guests.
They have bikes that you can sign out to ride around the resort. There are a number of fun things to do in the area. Please contact us to learn more about the offerings through Island Routes. To book, click here. They have a waterfall tour, walking & shopping tour, rum tour, golf, catamaran, and rain forest hiking.
Like all Sandals & Beaches resorts, they include more than other all-inclusive resorts. For example, they include snorkeling and scuba diving (if you are certified).
There are 11 restaurants, but that includes the coffee shop, ice cream shop, and 2 quick serve restaurants. Sora is an Italian restaurant. I loved the meatballs and chicken parmesan. I do not eat seafood, but those who I ate with loved Scrimshaw. My flank steak was great. They raved about Popcorn Shrimp, Tuna Crudo, and Mahi Mahi. I ate lunch at the Jerk Shack and the Jerk chicken & Jamaican Beef Patties were great. They also have festival. Imoro & Isola are quick serve restaurants where you can create your own salad & get pizza by the slice. You can also order a whole pizza to go. The pizza was good.
Butch’s & Buccan require reservations. Butch’s Chop House is a steak & seafood restaurant. Buccan is a small restaurant served family style. It is a chef’s choice menu so you do not pick the food–the chef does. Because it is family style, it is not good for those with allergies.
I was in the Garden Butler Suite with Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub VG. The room is beautiful with an outer foyer with a bedroom/living area. The bathroom has a dual vanity, a stand up rain shower and a Roman Style tub. It has a tropical view. The patio has a roman style tub. Click here to see a full video of my room.
They will also have Overwater Two-Story Villas, but they were not complete when I visited in May 2024. We did not to get to see the them, but they look amazing! They are 1,248 sq. ft. 2 story villas.
Sandals St Vincent is a great resort for couples looking for a less traveled beautiful destination.
